Krzysztof Zgraja (born 1950), a composer, one of the greatest European jazz flutists. While in high school he played violin, then graduated from Instrumental Department (flute), as well as Theory and Composition Department at the Academy of Music in Katowice,. He made his debut in a jazz- rock band Alter Ego. In the 70s he played a duet with C. Gładkowski, winning the first prize at Jazz nad Odrą '72 festival. In 1977-1986 he worked with J. Bednarek (on albums "La Concha", "Live in Hannover", "Walking Time" Flamenco Inspiration" among others) they both have played for many years in the international group Flamenco Inspiration in Switzerland. In addition to jazz themes he also composes symphonic and chamber music as well as film and theater music (his performances include Audio -Video -Art , The Sculpture and Graphics Music Theater / Music Graphic ). All his solo and chamber pieces were issued by major European publishing houses such as: Schott Music International, Mainz, Universal Edition in Vienna, Frankfurt Zimmermann and others. An author of manuals, radio and television journalist, he is also involved in conducting interdisciplinary theoretical research.
