A special characteristic in the collaboration of WISSEL&NIES is, beside their interactive and diffusing genesis of sounds, the ability of changing roles due to adopting different attitudes in their playing. Cliches relating on the emotional or technical character of their instruments are getting obsolete.

Georg Wissel, Improviser, Composer, Sculptor of compressed air Inspired by his collaboration with electronic musicians, he began also (beside working on instrumental playing-techniques) searching for new sounds by preparations, which by the time has become an integral part of his playing. He is working internationally, performing solo, with permanent groups or in ensembles/projects together with exponents in improvised music like Paul Lytton, Malcom Goldstein, Gunda Gottschalk, Matthew Goodheart, Lou Grassi, Carl Ludwig Hünisch, Erhart Hirt, Christoph Imer, Hans-Jürgen Kanty, Tim Perkis, Melvyn Poore ...
Furthermore, like as a negative/counterpart to improvisation, he concerns himself in composition, whereas dealing with the subject of geography and geometry is an important point of his interest.

Joker Nies
is a musician, sound-designer, sound-engineer, and technical editor for the German Sound&Recording magazine. Modifying the Omnichord became his initiation to what is known as circuit-bending.
Since that time a steadily growing number of devices has been converted from simple toys into alone sound devices. Joker Nies performed on festivals all over Europe, USA and Mexico, with artists like John Butcher, Ernst Reijsinger, Thomas Lehn, Alan Silva, Dave Tucker, Seth Josel, Hans Tammen, Mario de vega, Gino Robair and many others.
